My Steps goal

This week, I worked hard during Steps this week and did 106 minutes and I have reached the goal of 100 minutes. My goal for next week is 120.

Learning From My Mistakes

This week our values is Learn From Mistakes. We have been learning pit. This shows things that make us feel like we are in the pit and how to get out.

Our Cultures

Today is Culture DIversity Day. We created a digital poster to share about our cultures. Here is mine.

My next step is to view other peoples blogs and learn about their cultures. 

Being A Courteous Writer

Today we learned how to create MindMup so we could identify and remember the things we need to do when writing so we are showing courtesy to our audience. For many of us, creating a MindMup was a new experience. This is the one we co-created. Check out individual student blogs to see theirs.

Our next step is to use MindMup for organizing our ideas in different subject areas.

NZ Music Month

This is my slide about NZ Music Month. I have learned about NZ and Maori Music. The reason I like Stan Walker because his songs are nice. This is a good opportunity for me to know more about NZ artists and songs.
My next step is to learn more about NZ artists by listening to their songs.

Creative & Innovative

Creative means where you can come up with and generate your own ideas or concepts. Innovative means where you implement those creative ideas and put them into action.

I have learned about creativity and innovation are not the same things but they do go hand in hand with each other. Without creativity, we would be unable to innovate, and without innovation, creativity would just only be an idea that never comes true.

My next step is to learn to be more creative and try my best to find a way to put those ideas/concepts into action. 

I wonder what will happen if thereś no creativity and innovation in this world?

Positive Attitude

This is my work about Show A Positive Attitude.  I have learned about when you decide to do something, don't simply give up or quit. Always believe you can do it, no matter how hard it is. 

It's okay that if you fail, but you never quit! If you don't quit, you will succeed.

My next step is to keep a positive attitude, no matter what I do.

Be Organised

Today, I learned about Be Organized. We need to be organized so we won't be wasting time looking for things and will have more time to work on important tasks. If you're not organized, you will be stressed. 

My next goal is to make sure I'll follow my checklist and write down what I need to do so that I won't forget things.

Our Place Our Names

This is my work about Our Place Our Names, it was hard for me because I don't know the meaning of the Maori words. So, I went to Te Reo Maori folder to learn then I know what to do.
This work is about to know the meaning of Maori names of Gilberthorpe School, the office, hall, staffroom and hubs.
My next step is to learn more Maori language, because I always watch Maori video at school, but I don't know the meaning.

           Each week we focus on a different value. In term one, we assessed ourselves and made next steps so that we can continue to get better at showing each of these values. Here is my self review.

READO

I have finished 3 tasks. Read a story or book about and animal, Listen to a storyline online and Do a puzzle. I have 21 activities left😭...I will try to do as many as I can later.

I've been reading "Peter Rabbit". It was my favorite book in Storyline

This book is about "Animal In Actions". You can learn about animals and do some activities. My most favorite animal is cranes because they are beautiful

I did Jigsaw Puzzle, I finished the strawberry cake and a kitten. It is kind of fun, the strawberry cake looks yummy

Keeping A Clean Environment

Today, I learned about how to keep our environment clean.

At home, we can tidy up our bedroom, keep our house clean and take out the trash. We must also not litter on public space because it cost so much to clean it up. And also, numerous fishes die every day because the ocean gets polluted with the trash that accumulates on the ground and then gets dumped into the ocean.

My next step is if I see rubbish, I will always pick it up and put it into the bin. I will also make my bed every morning.

Can you imagine if we don't keep our environment clean, what will happen to our earth after 50 years?

Numbers near a hundred Stage 6 Addition and Subtraction Strategies Phoebe Wong

I've learned about when there is a sum of 2 numbers, look for the number that is close to 100. Work out the difference between that number to 100 (98+2=100), so the other number will have to minus the same number (34-2=32). So it makes us easy to calculate.
My next step is to practice more and try to get all correct.

My Cultural Connections

This is my slide about my home country's culture
Malaysia is a multi-cultural society. The main ethnic groups are the native Malays as well as large populations of Chinese, Indians and many other ethnic groups such as Iban and Katazan. I have learned about different ethnic groups have different cultures, traditions, customs, clothes, celebrations and food.
My next step is to learn to respect different ethnic groups' cultures.

What are the difference between your country's culture and mine?

Mother's Day Activities

I have finished my Mother's Day Activities, it was very fun! This is my work.
Mother's day is a day for us to appreciate our mum's love to us.
I have learned about we should show gratitude to mum for taking care of us, her love and kindness.
My next step is to help my mother to do household chores more often, be good and study harder to make my mum happy.
